We all heard and know about the greenhouse gas issue as well as the increase in pollution which is harming the Earth. While there are several solution that can help overturn this issue, it merely slows it down. Until we can find a viable solution to stop pollution or reverse the effects of pollution, we must do our part in maintaining the ecosystem.
The 3R - Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, filtering exhaust fumes and refrain from using hazardous materials in production are some of the way to curb the effects of global warming. However, we in the IT department and industry must do our part as well. Green Computing is one of the way.
Basically through Green Computing, we can reduce a lot of energy used to power the electronic devices through various means such as having hardware that consume low power, virtualisation and proper wiring. These are just some of the few methods we can apply through Green Computing.
In conclusion, Green Computing will play a vital role in the future as technology expands and more people owning a computer or electronic devices. Therefore, it is important that Green Computing should be understood by the public so that the effects it brings will be effective.
